Thanks for the reply I finally got round to looking at the car and It turns out the problem was a relay on the drivers side inner wing. Just a few small jobs to do (plus try and source a rear silencer) then I can get the car in to local garage for mot.

Hi all I have recently bought a 1983 mg metro and am working through some small jobs to get ready for its mot. The problem I am having is the heater blower, front wipers and front washer plus the indicators on the wing have all stopped working. These were all working before I fitted a new battery so...

fuel sender rear side pockets 1983 mg metro

Hi im looking for the fuel sender for the petrol tank as my gauge does not work. Think its the one fitted in the top of the tank. Also looking for the rear seat side pockets need a good pair as ive got one in poor condition. cheers tommy

Thanks for the help. Phoned a garage (from hydrogas register) about 20 miles away which does work on classic cars including mg and triumph restoration and will top up for £25 which seems ok. Also got my sizes wrong cars is at about 280 front 270 rear so roughly 50mm low which makes more sense. Cheer...

Hi does anyone know what the standard ride height should be on a mg turbo. I measured mine from centre of wheel up to the wheel arch and it varies from 170mm to 180mm over the 4 wheels but it seems low. Hoping to find somewhere to get the hydrogas topped up but cant seem to find what the correct hei...

It would be interesting, if it was possible, to find out how many mg metros were made and what colours they were. Also how many of each colour are still on the road.

My mk1 turbo is OPORTO metallic which is a dark red, The paint code is CMP and is quite a rare colour on the metro, was used on the mini also. I had a 1985 mg turbo in the 1994, can not remember if mk1 or mk2, which was a bit like the opaline green but more turquoise in colour and was also metallic....

I thought the wheel caps would be hard to get will just keep a eye out for some. Will prob just take gutter trim off as only has one fitted so looks odd. Was more a good outdoor cover i was looking for if anyone has one and could recommend it, i was looking at this one for some winter protection. ht...

Hi looking for some parts for 1984 mg metro turbo. To start with centre caps x4 and bolt cover caps x16 for turbo alloy wheels. plastic trim for roof gutters. struts x2 for tailgate as wont stay open. good quality outdoor car cover. cheers tommy
