Anyone good with rover 25's?

Post by Metrocal »

Hi all.. new user on here but was 'calrio ' on the other site..

My daily ride which is a rover 25 diesel mk2 seems to have a slight issue.. indicators dont work!

I cant seem to see a relay for it but i also read somewhere they have something called a ' bcu ' unit.

My question is.. if it does have a bcu unit.. is it coded to the ecu or can i just swap it for another unit and all hunky dory?

Pardon my thickness... i can rebuild everything on a metro but dont know much about the r25... any help would be greatly appreciated 😀

the BCU is coded and is basically a more complex 5as alarm box. The BCU is on the later Rover 25 from about late 2003 to 2005. I think the key fob is round too instead of the normal 5as fox which the rover 100 had. I believe the BCU is behind the centre console / gearstick area.

Do you have any photos of your rover 25 and also of its key fob?

Hope this helps.

the 5as box in the 2002 rover 25 I disassembled the other day was all the way in the corner up under the dash behind the fuse box.

Hi.. yeah it a round fob on a mk2 facelift rover 25 diesel. Its a 54 plate.. iv noticed now front fogs have also stopped working.
Seen a chap who sells the pektron relays on ebay at 5 for £20 to solder in ,so i think thats my only option rather than getting a new ecu set?
