Hi there, I’m having trouble with the speedo in my 1997 Manual Rover 100 1.1l, it has completely stopped working. I have replaced the upper and lower cable and the instrument cluster but no joy. I’m nervous that it will require the gearbox to be pulled out which is well past my level of knowledge. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Rubber dowel on gearbox end correctly inserted ? Checked new cable for function, eg remove from gearbox, connect to battery drill and give it a spin, whilst having someone view speedo for movement.
