Hello all,

I could not locate the recommended oil change frequency anywhere in my Metro handbook.

Any ideas how often-or after how many miles-Rover recommended this? It would be helpful too to know the suggested fluid change intervals for the transaxle oil and also the coolant and brake fluid.

From respective Haynes Manuals:

Austin & MG Metro - 0718 (red cover)

Up to 'G' reg (May 1990): A-series 1275 engine

Oil and filter: Every 6000 miles or 6 months. 10W40

Brake & clutch fluid (Dot 4): 18000 or 18 months. (Seals and flexible hoses every 36000 or 3 years)

Coolant: 24000 or every two years. Ethylene glycol based.



Rover Metro, 111, 114 - 1711 (Blue cover)

'G' to 'N' reg: (K series engines)

Oil 10W40 & filter: Every 6000 or 6 months.

Check transmission oil every 12000 or 12 months and top-up as necc. It doesn't state how often to change so down to you. 75W80

Coolant (Ethylene Glycol) based & Brake Fluid (Dot 4): Every 24000 or 2 years.

Brakes: overhaul every 60000 miles or 5 years.
