Hello all,
I am putting my metro back together after a spell off the road.
I have a 1.8 non vvc with Mems 1.9 and 5as? The car was converted a fair few years ago using a custom loom and I think Jon boy did the install.
I have popped on a new battery, I have put a new battery on the remote plip thing and I have gone to start the engine but it cranks but does not fire,
I have pressed the unlock button on the remote plip and I can hear a relay in the engine bay but I cannot hear the fuel pump. I don't have any power to fuse 17 hence no power to the pump with the ignition on.
I have replaced the 15 amp fuse on the cable loom and bypassed the inertia switch. But still no fuel pump.
How can I be sure that the immobiliser is off ? I dont have an alarm LED
Any ideas or is there anyone Local to Bath that can help me?
Cheers
Shaun

Re: Mems 1.9
Have you pressed in the inertia switch for the fuel pump?.
The black switch with the square rubber cap on it.
press it down till you feel the switch click,
normally if the car is immobilised, it will start and run for
a couple of seconds then stop, this is classic immobiliser
arming. Iirc the wire colour into the inertia switch is White/purple,
the wire out is White/green that goes to the fuel pump.
if the inertia switch is tripped, you will not get the fuel pump
to pulse when keying on the ign, it should do this regardless of whether
the alarm is immobilised or not.
