1.8t fuel pressure regulators

I have an aftermarket fpr for my 1.8t, what are people doing with the one on the fuel rail? I have cut the thing in half so I'm left with the diaphragm and outer seal.. will this cause any issues? Is there a more elegant method?

simplest thing to do is take the reg out of the rail and remove the small o ring only, refit job done and fuel will flow straight past the reg

I've sliced the bottom of the reg off lol.. took the prong out of the bottom too.. should flow extra good!
