Rover 25 keyfob

non metro I know but I have a 54 plate 25 with the 3 button key the car starts and drives. the issue is the keyfob doesn't work at all can't open the boot or passenger door also when the key is turned to ignition on the interior light and hazards give a short flash any ideas on how to sort this?
