I am currently modding a standard mk1 instrument panel for my mk1 racer. the aim is to fit an aftermarked rev counter and two smaller dials (which will be voltage and oil temperature). the centre section with warning lamps, water temp and fuel level will be the original.
I have room additional warning lamps, so was thinking about fitting a shift light. would this be a usefull addition or is it easier to keep shifting when the revs sound right like I do now?

Re: shift light
If your confident with the gear changes / shifts you do now (without the shift light), then a guess you might not need one.
however it may actually help with your shifting / changes as the fact of seeing a green, amber, red light rather than concentrating on other things such as what the gear sounds like or looking at the rev counter.
might help it might not, probably best to give it a shot i reckon mate.
