Well things have progressed ever so slightly, other half nicely supprised me with a hornet bomb, was originally going for a sportex system but this fits the bill for some noise and a nicer look
also picked up a set off mpi gti wheels need a refub mind you
[
boot spolier was also brought an fitted this massively changed to look of the rear end
and some snowww so photo opportunity with my series 2a
dropped the gti wheels down the poweder coaters so decided to give the metty a wash and try to clean up the engine bay
gti wheels picked back up from the coaters applied a couple of coats of wheel sealent
sent them round to the tyre place nextdoor to have some 175/60/13 toyo cf2s fitted and got them on
this one was a verry verry impulse buy i wanted these little bits eventually but didn't expect to pick them this soon hoipefully get them painted soon and fitted
would have been rude not to get an updated picture at longbride
and the last little bit of this update a pal of mine found a colour coded fuel cap insert while having a clear out

BIIG update
so this one starts with me replacing upper and lower balljoints as i noticed some play when fitting the alloys
then fitted some mgf front calipers
found a gti steering wheel on ebay was abit grubby but looked great after a good clean
long story short i did a thing
1.8vvc and pg1 was all thats left
gave the engine a good scrub with some mr muscle
painted the block
painted the exhaust manifold and fitted stainless studs and nuts
mike at K-looms supplied me with a gti engine loom and converted my vvc loom
painted the gearbox
replaced the timing belts and oil filter with genuine items
replaced the spark plugs, dipstick tube, dipstick gasket and dip stick again with genuine item
found a local lad breaking an mpi 1.1 so grabbed all the bits i needed
new ap clutch
picked up a zr160 airbox for that oem look
repalced the leads with a nice 8mm set for Mr reto leads
upgarded the front door speakers and fitted a sub somewhere along the line
aqquired one zs pg1 gear linkage
then took metty on a 450mile road trip to the lates
painted and fitted some center caps
then decided it was time to pull the 1.1 out felt a little bad as it ran amazing on the trips to the lakes
cleaned the engine bay
before
after
painted the subframe and removed the pedal box
got a new exhaust system and that included a 6bolt manifold its 2.5" to the center box then drops to 2.25 when it goes over the axle
painted the new downpipe
started moddiing the pedal box to aceept the mgf slave cylinder
refitted the pedal box
one makeshift carport made and the engine was in
mgf rad fitted
rover 25 top hose fits niceee
shortend the zs linkage and got that fitted
back on the floor with the new gti splitter fitted
then my clutch pipe arrived from hel for anyone going hydro the fittings are m12 the banjo thread pitch is m12x1.00 and a meter is perfert lengh
then first drive to the petrol station
replaced the chrome strips for some black ones
then its time to collect the parts to sort the very soft suspension
gti arbs
and indivialising valves
fitted some red seatbelts aswell
and heres a competed engine bay picture
