Re: rear wiper
Hi, inside the motor, there is a big gear that is driven from the motor worm gear, on the big gear, there is a micro switch that rides on the ramp, as the gear rotates, ie, wiper working, the micro switch gets switched on, then overridden by having the dash switch or column being on, and the timer r...

Re: Fuel tank.
Hi, you could get away with an external swirl pot, but it can be a bit awkward siting it, as there is not much room, There is a new inj tank on ebay, item 154280761649, this looks like the galvanised tank that I have used before. the internal swirlpot system is not as good as the oem, the 'filler ho...

Re: Fuel tank.
Hi, yes you need to fit a injection tank as the fuel pump is inside, plus fitting feed and return lines and power to the pump. Any mpi tank will be ok as it will have the mpi pump installed, dont use a spi pump as its own internal pressure relief valve (lockout valve) pressure will be too low. You m...

Re: Metro auto si
An easy way to do this would be to convert the 1.4 8v to a 16v, provided that the pistons have the 6 valve cutouts on the crown, 2 are used to clear the 2v per cyl, the other 4 claer the 4v per cyl, rover fitted these pistons to standardise production, I did this conversion to a 114sli 1995 MY, this...

Re: Cable connector
Hi, this might be a bit late, but it sounds like you have a 3 door, if so the plug is for the 5 door
central locking motor, Rover used the 5 door looms on 3 and 5 door as you simply dont use
the 'spare' plugs on the 3 door.

Re: 114 mgf radiator high temp gauge
The 2 sensors are one for the gauge, (single wire), the other one is for the ecu (2 wires) You will need a bleed from the top of the rad to the header tank, and another from the cylinder head (by the dipstick tube) to the header tank, check that ball valve inside tube is not gummed up and is free to...
