Re: Clutch and flywheel
i would guess you just look at the teeth of the reluctor ring at the back of the flywheel and if you see 4 teeth missing it may be the right one. to be sure, 2 of them are 2 teeth apart, the other 3 teeth,

Re: 1.8 vvc 160
MEMS3 should have the air temp sensor fitted inside the MAP sensor.
maybe someone used an earlier manifold and just left the sensor to plug the hole.
beeing MEMS3 it is OBD2 compatible so any cheap diagnosis tools should give a rough hint what is wrong

Re: Winter tyres
i'm pretty sure they were only 12".
there were 3 differend part numbers, NAM6696 and NAM8480 for 4.5x12 ET34, and NAM6071 for 4.5x12 ET35.
i don't think the factory ever bothered even thinking about 13" steel as it was only considered for looks

Re: best fuel for turbo engine
turbo engines were all 98 octane rated.
if you really need a lead replacement it a hot argued topic. but to be on the safe side i would use one. the turbo exhaust valves run very hot, hence they were sodium cooled out of the factory, so they can use all the protection they can get

Re: Cambelt
It is not my intention to stoke fears, but if old enough any cam belt can fail. not a K-series but the last one i've seen just lost 3 teeth down at the crankshaft pulley and the pistons smashed into the valves. but the rest of the belt looked quite good. sure a good quality belt has a good safety ma...

Re: Mk1 MG hill climb racer
they give out a square wave signal, basically what all Hall effect sensors give out. they may have differend numbers of inpulses per revolution, but most aftermarket speeedos are programmable to show the correct speed with whatever number of impulses. so if the speedo you would like to use requires ...

Re: Mk1 MG hill climb racer
digital speedo is quite easy with the A-series. just put a sensor where the cable is usually screwed on. most sensors use metric M18x1.5 threads so you have to change the thread of the gearbox. VDO used to make a couple of types, direct screw on with cable output and without cable output, and remote...

Re: Air/fuel ratio gauge
if your sensor has 2 white, one black, and one grey wire, the signal is the black wire.
