Immobiliser issue

Post by Veedub68 »

After changing the batteries in both key fobs for my Rover 114 Sli, I am unable to turn the alarm off. i have had to disconnect the battery. however it states in the manual that is this is done while the vehicle is immobilised, a code needs to be input to de-activate the immobiliser. I don't have the code. Is there any way around this? Also, do anyone have an idea why the htr controls, switches illumination and glovebox light won't work?

hi usually to 're set the fob you just repeatedly click the lock and unlock buttons till it registers and should then disarm the alarm as for the lighting issues could be a fuse or bulbs or earth problems

Thanks, I'll have a check through the fuses. I was going to try the repeated pressing of the keyfob, but didn't want the horn going off all the time. I know this sounds a bit dim, but where is it? I've had a good scout under the bonnet with a torch, but can't see it anywhere.

Do you mean the horn

that's below the passenger side headlight

Yep, couldn't see it. Thanks. I'll have a go at re-syncing the keyfob now, without the horn annoying the neighbours.

Try 4-5 times on the lock button after each other followed by 4-5 times on the onlock button
