Daily driver

How many people on here have a standard Rover Metro and use it as a daily driver? I do and it's Tardis-like interior means that you can carry most things. I recently watched an episode of "The Sweeney" and noticed that a good preportion of cars flashing past the chase were (Admittedly mostly if not all Austin) Metros. Now, driving about, they seem extinct - testament to their build quality / difficulty of maintenance - Hydragas and grease nipples / and finally acquiring a "throw away" feeling toward the end, no doubt.

So, how many out there? Not Metros polished in garages that don't go out in the rain or racing cars, etc Just workaday old, Used, patinated Metros. Hope to see one on the road soon like mine - bit rusty and dented but still doing a job.

BTW - have you noticed how prices are going up? Even rusty "needs sills welding for MOT" types are fetching well over £200 with viable but scruffy cars more. Just llike Jaguar XJ40s - one all of the near-scrap neglected dogs had expired prices went up due to rarity.

I have a daily Austin Metro 998 which is used every day by my girlfriend and sometimes by me. it fits your description perfectly although this is in denmark so you are unlikely to see it about :)
